Our story
We are a team with roots in Salta, Argentina, where our family has owned Hotel Alejandro I for decades. We grew up watching travelers arrive from all over the world to a place we thought no one had heard of — and watched them struggle to plan a real trip through northwest Argentina with the information available online.
We combine that real local knowledge with digital marketing experience from Tel Aviv, Israel, where we've been based for several years. That dual perspective — a local who knows every empanada, every gravel road and every folk music venue, and a digital pro who understands how to organize information so it's actually useful — is what sets this guide apart from any generic travel blog.
Why trust us
- Every destination we recommend, we know personally. We don't copy from TripAdvisor or translate Lonely Planet. If we say it, it's because we walked it.
- Our guides are written by locals, not tourists who spent 3 days. The difference shows in the details only someone living there knows: the restaurant that opens on Mondays, the ATM that actually dispenses dollars, the bus company that changed name last year.
- 5 native languages (Spanish, Portuguese, English, French and German), not machine translations. Each language is culturally adapted for its audience.
- Information updated April 2026. Real USD prices, current road conditions, data verified with local providers.
- Honesty over commission. If a winery isn't worth the price, we say so. If a tour is overrated, we say so. Our reputation depends on your good experience, not on a click.
What we do differently
Discover Argentina was born out of frustration: there was no comprehensive, multilingual travel resource with real local depth about Argentina. Blogs cover individual destinations; official sites offer bureaucratic and outdated information; the big international guidebooks repeat the same content from ten years ago.
We built an atlas of Argentina with 10 regions, hundreds of destinations and verified practical data. Every page has structured tables (prices, distances, month-by-month climate), itineraries thought out by locals, and internal links that connect destinations the way you would actually connect them on your real trip.
How we fund the site
Discover Argentina is an independent project. We are funded through affiliate links: when you book a hotel, tour or flight through our links, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This lets us keep all the content 100% free and continuously updated. The products we recommend are the ones we'd use ourselves.
