The Bosques de Palermo, officially Parque Tres de Febrero, are Buenos Aires' green lung (lat -34.5697, lng -58.4131): 400 hectares designed by landscaper Carlos Thays and inaugurated in 1875. The park includes the famous Rose Garden (18,000 rose bushes of 1,000 varieties), the Galileo Galilei Planetarium, artificial lakes with pedal boats, the Japanese Garden (the largest outside Japan), the Carlos Thays Botanical Garden (6,000 plant species), running and cycling circuits, and ample spaces for picnics and outdoor activities.

What to See and Do
The Rose Garden (Rosedal)
One of South America's most beautiful gardens: 3.4 hectares with 18,000 rose bushes, a lake with a white bridge, pergolas and the Andalusian Patio with Sevillian tiles. Peak blooming: October-November and March-April. Free admission daily.
Galileo Galilei Planetarium
Modern architecture icon renovated in 2017 with 8K projection technology. Immersive astronomy shows. Outside: a 1,530-kg meteorite. USD 2-4. Great for families.
Boating Lakes
Four artificial lakes with pedal boats and rowboats (USD 5-8 per 30 minutes). Surrounded by weeping willows and jacarandas.
Japanese Garden
Built in 1967, the largest Japanese garden outside Japan (2.5 hectares). Red bridge, koi carp, bonsai, tea ceremony and Japanese restaurant. USD 3-5. Open daily.
When to Visit
- Spring (September-November): Best time. Jacarandas in bloom, roses at their peak, perfect temperature.
- Autumn (March-May): Golden foliage. Second rose blooming.
