Transport in Mendoza is one of the most common questions travelers have, and for good reason: wineries are spread across different regions and there is no metro or efficient public transport to the wine areas.
Transport prices 2026
- Remis within city: USD 2-5
- Remis to airport: USD 6-10
- Remis for the day (wineries): USD 80-120
- City bus: USD 0.20 (Red Bus card)
- Rental car: from USD 25-30/day
- Bike in Maipu: USD 10/day
- Winery tour with transport: from USD 36 (Civitatis)
- Airport transfer (Civitatis): from USD 6
- Uber/Cabify: works in city, USD 1-4
Organized tours -- Most practical
For most travelers, organized tours are the best option for visiting wineries. They include transport, guide and reservations. Civitatis offers group tours from USD 36 and private from USD 465/group.
Remis -- The Mendoza taxi
The remis is a fixed-price private car service. For wineries, hire one for the day (USD 80-120) and build your own itinerary. The driver waits at each winery.
Rental car -- Maximum flexibility
From USD 25-30/day. Warning: if you want to taste wines, you need a designated driver. Police enforce zero-tolerance DUI rules with frequent checkpoints.
Bicycle -- The star of Maipu
In Maipu, bikes are ideal. Flat circuit, 15-20 km total. USD 10/day includes helmet, lock and map. Visit 4-6 wineries at your own pace.
Best option for each zone
- Maipu: Bicycle (USD 10/day) or city bus
- Lujan de Cuyo: Tour (USD 36) or remis (USD 80-100)
- Valle de Uco: Tour (USD 36) or remis (USD 100-150)
