Rosario de Lerma is a colonial town of 12,000 inhabitants 33 km southwest of Salta city, Argentina (lat -24.98, lng -65.58), in the fertile Lerma Valley. Known as the southern gateway to the Quebrada del Toro and the route to the Train to the Clouds, the town features colonial architecture, the historic Finca La Cruz estate, tobacco plantations and a tranquil rural atmosphere. It provides an alternative route toward the Cuesta del Obispo and Cachi via the southern valley road.
