Buenos Aires is the undisputed LGBTQ+ capital of Latin America and one of the most gay-friendly destinations in the world. Argentina was the first country in Latin America to legalise same-sex marriage (2010), has a pioneering gender identity law that is a global reference (2012), and Buenos Aires offers a vibrant LGBTQ+ scene spanning queer tango milongas and electronic parties to inclusive accommodation, world-class drag shows and one of the planet's most attended Pride marches.

Gay-friendly neighbourhoods
Palermo: the epicentre
Palermo is the most gay-friendly neighbourhood and the LGBTQ+ epicentre. Dozens of openly gay-friendly bars and restaurants with rainbow flags, the city's best LGBTQ+ parties, queer fashion shops and a relaxed atmosphere where same-sex couples walk hand in hand without a second thought.

San Telmo has a more bohemian energy. It is the neighbourhood of queer tango, underground bars and the independent art scene.
