By Train
The Mitre line connects Retiro with San Isidro in 30 minutes. Trains run every 10-15 minutes during rush hour, every 20-30 minutes off-peak. San Isidro station is 3 blocks from the historic quarter. Price: less than USD 1 with a SUBE card. This is the most practical and fastest option.
By Car
From downtown Buenos Aires, take the Panamericana Highway (AU 9) heading north. Exit at San Isidro (km 25). The drive takes 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. There is paid parking in the historic quarter and free street parking nearby.
By Bus
Several bus lines connect Buenos Aires with San Isidro: 60, 168, 314, among others. The ride can take 45-70 minutes depending on the route and traffic. Less recommended than the train.

Neo-Gothic Cathedral of San Isidro
The Cathedral of San Isidro Labrador is a neo-Gothic masterpiece inaugurated in 1898. Designed by architect Jacques Dunant, its twin 68-meter towers dominate the skyline. The interior features stained glass windows imported from France, Carrara marble altars and exceptional acoustics. Open daily, free admission. Sunday masses with choir.
Quinta Los Omejos and Historic Quarter
Quinta Los Omejos is an 18th-century mansion that was the residence of General Pueyrredon, Supreme Director of the United Provinces. Today it serves as the Pueyrredon Museum with period furniture, historic gardens and exhibitions on colonial life. The surrounding historic quarter has cobblestone streets, stately mansions, antique shops, art galleries and boutique cafes.
San Isidro Racecourse
The San Isidro Racecourse is one of the most important in South America, with capacity for 100,000 spectators. Races take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays during the season (March-December). General admission is free. The Gran Premio Nacional in November is the most prestigious event.
