Traslasierra

Valley behind the mountains — Mina Clavero, crystal rivers, dry microclimate and 300 days of sunshine

Last updated: April 2026

Traslasierra (literally "behind the mountains") is a valley west of the Sierras Grandes of Cordoba (lat -31.7167, lng -65) including the towns of Mina Clavero, Nono, San Javier, Los Hornillos and Villa de Las Rosas. Known for crystal-clear rivers, a dry and sunny microclimate (300+ days of sunshine per year), and an alternative artisanal culture. The Sierras Grandes block eastern humidity, creating low relative humidity. Recommended for people with respiratory conditions.
